U.S. demand for natural gas in trucks soars

According to Reuters, fuel demand for natural gas trucks in the United States will reach 14 billion cubic feet per day by 2030, a huge increase from the 90 million cubic feet per day in 2011.

According to a research report released on September 4th, in the next 20 years, low-cost and new models will allow American trucks to switch to cheaper fuel. PIPA Energy Group pointed out in this report that natural gas prices in the United States have reached the lowest level in nearly 10 years, and natural gas has become a more economical vehicle fuel that can replace diesel.

However, the report also pointed out that the increase in natural gas demand for truck engines also has potential constraints, including technical instability and structural design flaws, which may affect the realization of a value of 14 billion cubic feet per day.
