Dismissed Qiyun sales company Chery executives to “defend”

China's largest independent brand automobile company Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. ("Chery Automobile") recently announced that it will conduct a large-scale personnel adjustment for existing sales executives.

In this adjustment, the Cowin Sales Co., which has been established for less than two years, will be merged into Chery Sales Corporation, and the top leader in charge of sales will also be adjusted from Ma Dejian to Lu Jianhui (the same level as Vice President Chery).

Since there was no sign of adjustment before the sales executives, and since many local auto makers have faced tremendous pressure on sales this year, the sudden personnel adjustment by Chery has attracted much attention.

Previously, someone familiar with the matter disclosed on Weibo that Zheng Zhaorui, general manager of Qiyun Sales Co., Ltd. under the Qiyun Business Unit of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., will replace the general manager of the new Chery Sales Corporation (the latter is the unit in charge of Qiyun Sales Co., Ltd.). In this role, Ma Deyi will return to his quality assurance work before he became the sales manager.

Subsequently, the reporter called the Chery General Office, the sales company and Ma Deyu himself. All parties confirmed the microblogging statement at the first time. Soon after, Chery Automobile formally released a message to the media explaining the background and content of this personnel adjustment.

According to the official information released by Chery, deputy general manager Ma Dejun no longer assumes the post of general manager of Chery Automobile Sales Corporation, and will be responsible for the company's quality work, in charge of the quality assurance department. Chery Automobile Sales Corporation is headed by Lu Jianhui, deputy general manager of Chery Automobile, and Zheng Zhaorui, former general manager of Qiyun Automobile Sales, took over as general manager of Chery Automobile Sales Corporation.

At the same time, Chery also announced that in order to consolidate its sales resources, the company will not only merge its sales of Qiyun Motors, which has not yet completed two years. In addition, Huang Huaqiong, a SAIC marketing executive who joined Chery in the first quarter of this year, was officially appointed as the assistant to the general manager of Chery Automobile Brand and Product Planning, and also served as the executive deputy general manager of the sales head office.

“With the gradual deepening of the strategic transformation of Chery Automobile from the pursuit of speed and scale to the pursuit of quality, brand, and efficiency, the division of labor among some top management personnel has also been adjusted.” Chery officials explained the background of personnel adjustments this time.

Yin Tongyue, chairman and general manager of Chery, said that Ma Deyi has extensive experience in the market and quality management experience. He is responsible for the company's quality assurance work, and is more conducive to building a market-oriented quality system and promoting the company's strategic transformation.
