It is expected that plastic bottle lighting will benefit millions of families early next year.

Plastic bottle lighting lamps invented by AlfredoMoser are spreading around the world and it is expected that 1 million families will benefit from the invention early next year.
In 2002, a Brazilian mechanic, Alfredo Moser, invented a zero-cost daylighting technology that consumes no electricity. This technique is often simple but very practical, especially for relatively poor areas.
Moser uses the principle of light refraction, that is, the direction of propagation changes when light travels from one medium to another. He inserted a plastic bottle filled with pure water and bleach on the roof. A part of the bottle was exposed on the roof to receive sunlight. When the light passed through the plastic bottle filled with water, the direction of light propagation changed. In all directions, plastic bottles provide much better brightness than glass windows in equal areas.
Bleaching agent is added to the water to avoid the greening of the water after a long time. The brightness of the light depends on the intensity of the sun's light and the clarity of the water. Generally, this light is equivalent to a 40-60 watt light bulb.
It is reported that in 2011, the NGO MyShelter Foundation has introduced this lighting technology to the Philippines. In some poor areas of the country, residential buildings are very dense, and the light that enters the room during the day is very limited. Different, and this invention effectively solves the problem of local daylighting.
