CIMC Raffles localization design recognized by ABS
The complete solution for the floating power station is a special form of engineering vessel designed to build a power plant on a barge with LNG clean energy from a floating LNG regasification unit (LNG-FSRU) to provide electrical services. Recently, the 50MW gas turbine floating power station, 100MW gas turbine floating power station and 24000 cubic meters LNG-FSRU independently developed by CIMC Raffles Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. passed the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) design principle approval review and obtained principle. Accreditation (AIP) certificate.

     The complete solution for floating power plants is mainly used in developing countries that lack basic power facilities. The floating power plant system can be equipped with one or more gas engines, diesel engines, boilers or small nuclear reactors for power generation, using natural gas, fuel oil, heavy oil or nuclear energy. Typically, floating power plants are docked near islands or coasts, and electricity is incorporated into the local grid or used for other purposes. Because the floating power station has the advantages of maneuverability, convenience, short construction period, low pollution, and no land occupation, it can meet the power supply demand for areas or islands with weak power facilities.

     The LNG-FSRU is a floating LNG regasification unit that provides energy for floating power stations. The LNG-FSRU receives LNG from the LNG shuttle boat and stores the LNG in a storage compartment within the FSRU hull. After heating by the regasification equipment, the LNG will be gasified into a gas and then transported to the floating power station via a flexible riser.

     50MW, 100MW gas turbine floating power station and 24000 cubic meters LNG-FSRU complete solution obtained AIP certification from American Bureau of Shipping, enabling CIMC Raffles Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. to independently design floating power station designs with different host selection and different output power. The solution meets different customer needs and provides customers with diversified solutions.

     It is reported that this is the first domestically approved floating power station system. The certification shows that the system has been professionally recognized by the International Classification Society in terms of system principle and safety and reliability, and has obtained the qualification recommended to shipowners. The localization design of this type of system has been realized.
