Still & Box Alarm in Chicago, 2-11-17 (part 1)

This is a report from Eric Haak: He shared some photos taken during a Still & Box Alarm incident in Chicago early Saturday morning (February 11). The 15th Battalion was the first to arrive on the scene and reported light smoke coming from a 600 x 200, four-story, fire-resistant warehouse. Just seven minutes later, the 15th Battalion updated their status, mentioning heavy smoke inside the building. They requested a full box alarm, but it turned out to be a false alarm involving an automobile. The Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU) was deployed to help clear the lingering smoke. Attached are several images captured by Eric Haak. In one picture, you can see Chicago Fire Department Engine 39 parked outside the warehouse. The thick plumes of smoke billowing out of the structure are clearly visible in another image. A probationary firefighter is actively working at the scene in one of the photos, showcasing their dedication and commitment. There’s also a shot of multiple firefighters gathered together, emphasizing teamwork and coordination. Another photo features Engine 65 along with a lieutenant overseeing operations. Lastly, there’s an image of the MVU 923 being utilized at the scene, highlighting the specialized equipment used to manage smoke-related issues. These photos provide a glimpse into the intense yet organized efforts undertaken by the Chicago Fire Department during this incident. It's always fascinating to see how quickly emergency responders mobilize and work together under pressure. This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of having well-trained professionals ready to handle any emergency scenario that may arise.
