On July 31, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China authorized the China Top Brand Strategy Promotion Committee to evaluate 872 products across 170 categories, identifying them as Chinese brand-name products and making the results public. Among these, 96 products from 98 oil, petrochemical, and chemical companies were listed.
Last year, 556 products were included on the national brand list. This year, the total number of brand-name products reached 872, an increase of 316 compared to the previous year. Of the products announced this year, 96 came from 98 chemical companies, while last year only 85 products from 85 chemical companies were listed. Since the validity period for Chinese brand-name certification is three years, many well-known nitrogen fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer brands that were recognized last year are still on the list. Despite the overall growth in the number of companies and products this year, the proportion of brand-name products in the petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical sectors did not match last year's levels.
This year, the tire industry had the highest number of participating companies, with 10 companies featuring all-steel radial tire brands on the list. Five of these brands are from Shandong Province, including Triangle, Chengshan, Linglong, Racing, and Double Star. According to reports, these tire brands, which first received the "China Famous Brand" title in 2004, have been reconfirmed this year. Following tires, PVC products saw eight companies represented, including Shanghai Chlor-Alkali and Qilu Petrochemical.
The China Famous Brand appraisal initiative began in 2001, marking its seventh edition this year. In the first round, only 57 products from 45 companies were selected nationwide. This year, 872 products were chosen, showing significant growth. In the initial selection in 2001, only a single product—a color film from Lekai Chemical—was recognized in the oil, petrochemical, and chemical industries. This year, over 100 companies in the same sector made the list, highlighting the industry's increasing recognition and development.
