On July 31st, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China authorized the China Top Brand Strategy Promotion Committee to evaluate 872 products across 170 categories for recognition as Chinese brand-name products. The results were then made public. Among these, 96 products from 98 oil, petrochemical, and chemical companies were listed. Last year, 556 products were included in the national brand list. This year, the total number of brand-name products increased to 872, marking a rise of 316 items compared to the previous year. Notably, this year's list included 96 products from 98 chemical companies, while last year there were 85 products from 85 such companies. Since the validity period for Chinese brand-name certification is three years, many well-known nitrogen fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer products from leading companies were recognized last year. As a result, even though the overall number of companies and products on the list has grown this year, the proportion of brand-name products in the petroleum, petrochemical, and chemical sectors is slightly lower than it was last year. This year, the tire industry had the highest number of participating companies, with 10 companies featuring 10 all-steel radial tire brands on the list. Five of these brands are from Shandong Province: Triangle, Chengshan, Linglong, Racing, and Double Star. According to reports, these tire brands—Triangle, Chengshan, Double Star, and others—were re-listed this year after being awarded the "China Famous Brand" title in 2004. Following the tire industry, PVC products saw eight companies included, such as Shanghai Chlor-Alkali and Qilu Petrochemical. The China Famous Brand appraisal initiative began in 2001 and this year marks its seventh edition. In the first round, only 57 products from 45 companies were selected nationwide. This year, 872 products were chosen, showing significant growth. In the initial selection, only one product—a color film from Lekai Chemical—was recognized in the oil, petrochemical, and chemical industries. This year, over a hundred companies from the same sector were included in the list, highlighting the industry’s increasing participation and recognition in the national brand program.
