The first Spartan/Gladiator Crimson 103' rear mount aerial ladder. The assignment for this piece has not yet been released. Larry Shapiro Several posts have highlighted the IAFC Fire Rescue International Trade Show in Chicago that took place a few weeks ago. A gallery of images can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the page HERE, showcasing many of the fire apparatus as they were leaving McCormick Place and heading out for fuel before heading to a gas station. As is standard at such events, all fuel was removed from the vehicles prior to entry to minimize fire risks and potential leaks. The gallery features a mix of different units, but some of the best shots are from local departments. These include the Freightliner/Medtec MICU from Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, the Pierce Impel quint from the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in North Chicago, the Spartan/Super Vac (SVI) HDR from Cherry Valley, the Pierce Velocity PUC tower ladder from South Holland, a custom Sutphen SP112 industrial tower ladder for the Exxon Mobile Joliet Refinery, and the newly acquired Spartan/Crimson rear mount aerial ladder for the Chicago Fire Department. Whether it's a custom-built unit for an industrial site or a new aerial ladder for a major city, each piece tells a story of innovation and preparedness. The photos shared here offer a glimpse into the excitement and energy of the event, and the dedication of the firefighters who will soon be using these tools in the field.
