Di-tertiary Butyl Peroxide is an organic compound consisting of a peroxide group bonded to two tert-butyl groups. It is one of the most stable organic peroxides, due to the tert-butyl groups being bulky. It is a colorless liquid.
DTBP can in principle be used in engines where oxyge is limited, since the molecule supplies both the oxidizer and the fuel
DTBP is an irritant to noses, and eyes and skin. It is also flammable, so it should be handled with care.
DTBP is a liquid dialkyl peroxide. It is an efficient initiator for polymerization of olefins and
acrylic resins, and a modification agent of PP degradation, insoluble in water, soluble in
organic solvents such as toluene, acetone, styrene, etc. Freeing point lower than -30℃.

How Winter Weather Affects Your Car
Winter driving can be dangerous, but leaving your car parked all season isn’t much better. Cold weather can cause parts to crack and fluids to thicken, putting extra stress on your vehicle and leading to potential damage. What should you know to keep your car in top shape this winter?
**Tires**
When temperatures drop below 44°F, the rubber in your all-season tires starts to harden, reducing traction on icy or snowy roads. Also, tire pressure decreases by about 1 PSI for every 10°F drop in temperature. If you don’t check it regularly, under-inflated tires can wear unevenly, increase the risk of a blowout, or even make it harder to control your car on slippery surfaces.
**Fluids**
Cold weather makes engine oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze thicker, which can slow their flow through the system. To avoid damage, warm up your car for 10–15 minutes before driving. This helps thin out the fluids and prevents unnecessary wear on internal components. Check all fluid levels at the start of the season, top them off if needed, and consider using a lighter oil grade or adding an engine block heater for easier starts.
Anti-freeze is especially important. Avoid mixing water with coolant, as it can freeze and expand, potentially cracking internal parts. Use pure, high-quality antifreeze to protect your engine longer.
**Engine**
While it’s tempting to turn on the heater right after starting your car, doing so can actually slow down the warming process. Wait at least 20 minutes before using the heater to allow the engine to reach optimal operating temperature. This helps reduce fuel consumption and improves overall performance.
**Windshields and Wipers**
Glass is sensitive to extreme cold. Never use hot water on your windshield, as it can cause cracks. Instead, use an alcohol-based de-icer or an ice scraper. High defroster settings can also damage the windshield, so use them cautiously.
Cold weather can also freeze wiper blades to the glass, causing damage if not handled properly. Tilt the wipers away from the windshield or remove them entirely if there’s an unexpected snowstorm.
**Battery**
Extreme cold reduces battery power, making it harder to start your car. Most batteries perform best between 30–90°F, and older batteries (three years or more) are especially vulnerable. Have your battery tested at the start of winter, and replace it if it shows signs of weakness.
**Leaks**
Thickened fluids can damage seals, but another common issue is condensation. When your car moves between warm and cold environments, moisture builds up and can freeze inside systems like the power steering, brakes, and transmission. This can lead to blockages and leaks. Flush old fluids at the beginning of winter to remove any moisture.
**Corrosion**
Road salt and debris can cause rust, especially on the undercarriage, wheel wells, and brakes. Over time, corrosion weakens the structure of your car and affects performance. Consider having your car rustproofed at the start of winter, and make it a habit to wash off salt deposits regularly.
