How to build a complete industrial chain in the field of electric vehicles

It is understood that although Chinese companies are now paying more attention to the field of electric vehicles, IGBT modules for cars are being stepped up research and development, but only a small number of prototype applications, its industrialization has yet to be improved product technology and market cultivation. Professor Wei Baowei, professor of microelectronics and solid electronics at the School of Electronic Information and Control Engineering at Beijing University of Technology, said that there are gaps in the IGBT chip and module packaging in China, but the gap in packaging is narrowing. Some domestic manufacturers claim to have developed IGBT chips, but the application is still relatively small, and it takes time to test their performance. For China's first 8-inch IGBT chip production line, Zhai Baowei pointed out that as with IC, its production line cannot stop once it is started. If the acceptance level is not high and the amount of start-up is insufficient, it will bear high losses every day. Therefore, it is also necessary to lay a solid foundation.

With the establishment of the "Central Enterprise Electric Vehicle Industry Alliance" last year, the admission of electric vehicles to the national team has made the new energy vehicles, especially the electric vehicle industry, a "star". Electric vehicles have become a common strategic choice for car manufacturers. Zhang Zhihong, deputy director of the Department of High-tech Industries of the Ministry of Science and Technology, recently said: “There will be a centralized listing boom for electric vehicles in the next two years and more new models of electric vehicles will be put on the market. The development of electric vehicles is a response to energy and the environment of the Chinese automobile industry. The challenge of maintaining sustainable development is an important factor for China to cultivate strategic emerging industries."

China needs to speed up demonstration pilots, tackle joint research, plan overall infrastructure construction, and promote industrialization. It is understood that despite years of efforts, China has made significant progress in the field of electric vehicles, but at present, the development of electric vehicles in China is still in the process of transformation from scientific research to industrialization. How to complete the construction of the industrial chain in this field most effectively, so that it is most conducive to industrialization, at present there is no one main idea.

Ye Shengji, assistant secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that because of the high requirements for the industrialization of pure electric vehicles, the demonstration operation of pure electric vehicles should be strengthened to further verify the suitability of vehicle performance and facilities, and to improve the key technologies of products through local applications and gradually improve The new energy automobile infrastructure construction will occupy the high point of technology. At the same time, China should actively promote the industrialization process, organize joint research and strive to achieve breakthroughs in battery technology, comprehensive planning of infrastructure construction, and create conditions for the full industrialization of pure electric vehicles. “The backbone enterprises need to improve the development strategy of pure electric vehicle products, increase the investment in technology research and development, and further grasp the core technologies of the entire vehicle and key systems. At the same time, actively cooperate with the government to carry out demonstration work of new energy vehicles, from the development of pure electric small passenger vehicles. Cars and large passenger cars started and gradually realized industrialization,” said Ye Shengji.

Liu Hong, deputy general manager of Brilliance Automotive Sales, also stated that from the perspective of unified development of the country, the entire R&D process of China's electric vehicle industry can only be achieved through overall planning of industrial development from the perspective of the scientific concept of development under the unified control and unified deployment of the country. Get steady progress.

Chinese battery companies must unite and learn from each other and learn from foreign advanced technologies and management models. In addition to the level of industrialization to be improved, China's energy-saving and new energy vehicles in the core technology has yet to be a breakthrough. Take electric vehicles as an example. From the current point of view, it will take a while for China to completely solve the “three powers” problem of pure electric vehicles, that is, the control problems of batteries, motors, and motors. In this "three powers," the battery as a storage and energy supply unit has always been considered as the core component of electric vehicles, and it is also one of the major factors that restrict the development of electric vehicles.

According to Ye Shengji, at present, the performance of China's battery cells is relatively small compared to the international advanced level, but the engineering capacity of the group product system (battery pack) includes consistency control, group technology, life, reliability, Charge and discharge capacity, energy management and thermal management are obviously lagging behind. In terms of battery production equipment, the stand-alone manufacturing equipment for small batteries can basically achieve domestic procurement, but there is still a gap between production capacity and accuracy compared with foreign countries; all automatic assembly production lines and high-precision test equipment need to be imported. In addition, the prospective and basic scientific research capabilities of battery materials need to be further strengthened.

The state "863 plan" electric vehicle major special power battery test center director Prince Dong pointed sharply pointed out that China's power lithium battery industry is not optimistic about the status quo, blindly invest too much, the rest of the world lithium battery companies also add up to us A lot less, disorderly competition led to the lack of truly powerful companies, lack of original technology. Wang Zidong also emphasized that the lack of communication and cooperation among Chinese battery companies is always a single battle. Chinese battery companies must unite and learn from each other and learn from foreign advanced technologies and management models in order to compete with foreign companies.

At present, the domestic industrialization of IGBT modules has yet to be improved in product technology and market cultivation. IGBTs can now be seen in new energy industries including electric vehicles. Domestic IGBT manufacturers are mainly concentrated in Europe, the United States, Japan and other enterprises, China's IGBT industry has just started, mainly through the outsourcing of IGBT chips, the traditional industrial-grade standard module package. In addition, downstream vehicle companies in the industrial chain are also involved in power semiconductor devices. Some companies have begun to study high-power IGBT modules for automobiles.

In June 2011, the “Shenzhen BYD Microelectronics Co., Ltd. Industrialization Project for High-Power IGBT Modules for Electric Vehicles” was formally included in the National Industrial Development and Reform Commission's specialization of new power electronic devices. In May of this year, the CSR Group's high-power IGBT industrialization base was laid in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, marking the official launch of the first 8-inch IGBT chip production line project in China, and further speeding up the localization of IGBTs.
