MABAS, ILTF-1, & Air One at NIPSTA
Today, the Cook County Board President paid a visit to NIPSTA, where they got a close look at some of the regional resources that have either been partially or fully funded by the county. The event featured several specialized units from MABAS, including the ILTF-1 team conducting a multi-day training exercise. Additionally, Air One brought four helicopters to the site, and ongoing fire training sessions at NIPSTA were in full swing.
Tim Olk and Larry Shapiro were present at the event and captured several photos showcasing what was on display. Among the highlights were various MABAS support units, ILTF-1’s mobile equipment containers, a helicopter demonstration by the police officers of Air One, and different specialized vehicles like the lumber truck and a DOT-owned Huey helicopter. There were also breathtaking aerial views of the area taken from one of the helicopters, providing a stunning panorama of Glenview and Chicago.
