Chrysler Global Automotive Sales Rose 24% YoY in March

Geely Automobile News US automaker Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler Group LLC) said that in March 2011, the company's global auto sales reached 164,000 units, up 24% year-on-year.

Chrysler said that as of the end of March, the company’s cumulative sales of global automobiles in the first quarter of 2011 were 394,000 vehicles, up 18% year-on-year. However, this figure is still far behind the company’s CEO Sergio Marchionne’s expected 32% year-on-year increase in car sales.

Chrysler spokesman Ralph Kisiel said that in March, the company sold 13,996 vehicles outside of North America, up only 1.6% year-on-year. In February, sales of cars outside North America rose by 8.6%.
