Chicago Working Fire, 5-18-15

Josh just sent me these updates from the scene of a fire that broke out on Monday at 5411 South Carpenter. It seems like the flames were coming from the basement of a classic 1.5-story Chicago bungalow. The firefighters really got busy—Engine 116 managed to deploy three water lines, while Truck 18 climbed up onto the roof to handle things from above. Check out these images I snapped. In the first one, you can see a firefighter standing confidently on the roof, surveying the situation. Another shot shows a group of firefighters gathered after managing the blaze. There’s also a close-up of another firefighter on the rooftop, looking focused and determined. In the next image, a firefighter is seen carrying tools away from the scene, clearly worn but still proud of their efforts. And don’t miss the detail on one of the fire trucks—it’s almost like art on wheels! Finally, there’s a picture of a firefighter still working hard on the property post-fire, making sure everything is under control. These photos really capture the intensity and teamwork involved in firefighting. Hats off to everyone who helped keep the neighborhood safe!

BOPP Thermal Lamination Film

BOPP Thermal Lamination Film is a type of heat laminating film made from biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) as the base material and processed through special coating or composite techniques. It is mainly used for surface lamination of printed materials (such as book covers, packaging boxes, posters, etc.) to enhance their wear resistance, water resistance, glossiness and aesthetic appeal.

1. Key Feature
-High transparency: Maintaining the clarity and vividness of colors of printed materials.
-Excellent rigidity & flatness: BOPP substrate offers good stiffness and anti-curling property.
-Hot melt adhesive layer: Usually EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) or PUR (polyurethane) hot melt adhesives are adopted to ensure a firm bond.
-Temperature resistance: Adapt to the heating roller temperature of the laminating machine (typically 80~120℃).
-Waterproof and moisture-proof: Protect printed materials from the influence of moisture and stains.
-Glossy film: High gloss, enhancing visual effect.
-Matte film: Anti-glare, improving texture.
-Scratch-resistant/UV-resistant: Special coating to extend durability.

2. Application Fields
-Printing and Packaging: Book covers, picture albums, color boxes, labels.
-Commercial Promotion: Posters, menus, business cards, tags.
-Industrial Uses: Electronic product instructions, waterproof maps.

3. Production Process
-BOPP base film production: Two-dimensional stretched polypropylene film (to enhance strength and transparency).
-Coating/Composite: Apply hot melt adhesive (such as EVA) onto the BOPP substrate.
-Cutting & Conveying: Cut into different widths according to customer requirements (commonly 450mm/600mm etc.).
