Berwyn apparatus updates
I just got some updated photos of the Berwyn Fire Department’s vehicles, courtesy of Josh Boyajian and Drew Gresik. These shots really showcase the department's impressive fleet and its history.
First up is the Berwyn Quint 901, a 2012 Pierce Velocity PUC with a 1500 GPM pump, 300-foot ladder, and 100-foot platform. The quint is designed to handle multiple roles on scene, making it an essential piece of equipment for the department. Josh Boyajian captured this image, and it really highlights the vehicle's modern design and functionality.
Next, we have Berwyn Engine Co. 902, a 1999 Pierce Saber. This rig features a 1250 GPM pump and 500-gallon tank mounted on a top-of-the-line chassis. It’s a classic example of a well-maintained piece of fire apparatus that continues to serve the community effectively. Drew Gresik took this photo, offering a great view of the Saber's clean lines and durable construction.
Then there’s the Berwyn Reserve Engine 911, a 1992 Seagrave model equipped with a 1250 GPM pump and 500-gallon tank. This reserve engine has been part of the department for years and remains in excellent condition. Josh Boyajian once again provided the shot, emphasizing the timeless design and reliability of the Seagrave brand.
Lastly, I wanted to share a more personal touch with the Berwyn Staff Car 917, a 2005 Chevy Impala. While not a typical firefighting vehicle, this car plays a vital role in helping staff get around quickly and efficiently. Josh Boyajian snapped this image, showing how even the smallest vehicles in the fleet can make a big difference.
These photos really give a sense of the care and dedication that goes into maintaining such a diverse and capable fleet. It’s always exciting to see how different models work together to keep the Berwyn community safe.
