New ambulance for Kankakee
Just saw this update from the Fire Service, Inc. Facebook page! Looks like the Kankakee Fire Department has just added a brand-new 2017 Wheeled Coach, Type I ambulance to their fleet. It’s built on a sturdy Ford F450 4×4 chassis and comes fully loaded with some top-notch features. The vehicle is equipped with a Liquid Spring suspension system for a smooth ride, Whelen LED emergency lighting for maximum visibility, and their custom “Coolbar†HVAC system to keep things comfortable inside.
This is actually KFD’s very first Wheeled Coach ambulance, so it’s a pretty big deal for them. I’m told they’re still finalizing the lettering before it’s officially put into service, but judging by these photos, it’s going to look sharp. Fire Service, Inc. did an excellent job on this build, and it’s great to see another department joining the Fire Service family.
I’ve attached a few photos below so you can get a better look at this beauty. The interior looks just as impressive as the exterior, with plenty of space for both patients and gear. Definitely a step up from what they had before! Can’t wait to see this thing out on the road helping people. Big congrats to Chief Damon Schuldt and everyone at the Kankakee Fire Department for this awesome addition.
