On Tuesday afternoon (June 4, 2019), Prospect Heights firefighters were dispatched to an accident scene involving a single-car mishap on the express lanes of Palatine Road, located just west of Wolf Road. The incident involved a brand-new Cadillac SUV that had ended up precariously perched along the embankment after crashing through and getting stuck in a section of open curbing that was currently being dug out for replacement. Fortunately, the driver, who was unharmed and not reporting any injuries, found themselves trapped inside the vehicle and unable to exit unassisted. Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and successfully helped the driver safely exit the vehicle before paramedics conducted a routine evaluation.
