Komatsu demonstrated the “ARION HYBRID” forklift equipped with capacitors and lead batteries as power storage devices at the 2nd World New Energy Expo. It is characterized by: decelerating regenerative charging and accelerating the generation of driving force using capacitors; other operations mainly use the power of lead batteries. Due to the high output power density of the capacitor, high-speed charge and discharge can be performed. Lead-acid batteries can be charged using 200V commercial power supplies. The forklift frequently accelerates and decelerates within a short travel distance, that is, there are many “Stop&Go” that can continuously generate regenerative power.
