China becomes the world’s first heavy-duty truck to sell over one million countries

According to the data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the sales volume of China's heavy trucks (including non-integrated vehicles and semitrailer tractors) reached 1,017,400 units in 2010, an increase of 59.93% over 2009, an increase of 42.22 percentage points over 2009. In the history of the world’s automobile industry, no country has ever sold one million heavy trucks.

Standing on the starting point of one million vehicles, it is worth pondering how China's heavy truck industry can go to a new level.

Focus on quality and brand enhancement

According to industry sources, currently in Europe and the United States, the fault-free mileage of heavy trucks is generally 1.5 million kilometers, while the domestic trucks have no faulty miles of about 600,000 kilometers. However, this figure must be viewed dialectically. The number of miles without faults has a lot to do with the operating conditions of heavy trucks, driving habits, and fuel cleanliness. However, we can really feel that local heavy trucks have much room for improvement in quality control.

In the high-yield situation, we must also strengthen our sense of quality. Huang Gang, general manager of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., said that in the past few years, the Dongfeng commercial vehicle quality management work has achieved very good results, and is currently working towards quality internationalization: First, it is necessary to update the quality evaluation standard from the customer's point of view, and further improve Evaluation indicators, the introduction of international quality benchmarks, consistent with international and domestic quality standards; Second, continue to strengthen quality assurance and after-sales service, and further enhance the quality assurance of the company's strategic projects under construction, adhere to the principle of uncompromising quality, to prevent sacrificing quality due to cost reduction The phenomenon occurs.

Chairman of the China National Heavy Duty Truck Group and Party Secretary Ma Chunji said that China National Heavy Duty Truck Group will set up a quality and technology research center in 2011 to work together with the Quality Department and be responsible for the overall quality improvement of the group company. Technical quality benchmarking car.

The improvement of service quality is also an important measure for industrial upgrading. According to reports, in 2011 Shaanxi Automobile was transformed into a service-oriented heavy truck manufacturing company. Futian Auman proposed the concept of “full-process, full-cycle, full-scale, all-unified, and full-satisfaction” 5 new service standards and lifelong service concepts. SAIC Iveco Hongyan will build a "service zero distance" service brand in 2011, and Hualing Motors and Dayun Heavy Trucks will support the rapid development of the service system with 1:1 parts sales.

The industry needs to be strong. It is not enough for companies to sell their products. Instead, they must run brands, especially the automotive industry. After the heavy truck breaks through the million mark, it must pay more attention to after-sales service network construction and brand cultivation than ever before. Future market product quality and brand will become the focus of competition, because the product itself may appear homogenous, but how can we differentiate at a higher level, we need to improve product features and brand value.

To seize the commanding heights of the core technology

At the National Science and Technology Awards Conference held on January 14, 2011, the FAW Liberation J6 won the first national science and technology progress award for China's civil vehicle. This shows that independent innovation and technological progress of domestic heavy trucks have taken the lead in the entire automotive industry. In fact, under the guidance of the national strategy for building an innovative country in recent years, the innovation of heavy truck companies has accelerated significantly.

However, there is no doubt that after years of efforts, although the technical level of local heavy trucks has been greatly improved, but the degree of electronicization is not high, and core technologies such as light weight and engine emissions are still lagging behind. According to the requirements of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National IV emission standards will be implemented in 2012, but the country still lacks the mature state IV heavy-duty diesel engine aftertreatment technology.

According to reports, in recent years the China Automotive Engineering Society has conducted a detailed questionnaire survey on nearly 300 vehicle manufacturers and key auto parts companies, and obtained 350,000 data. According to the 350,000 data, it can be concluded that our core technology still has a large gap compared with foreign countries. Without mastering the core technology, it will be difficult for China's heavy trucks to reach a new level.

Wang Jianye, head of the Application Engineering Department of Shaanxi Heavy-Duty Truck Co., Ltd., said that the scale of production and sales has reached a million-dollar level, and the economic strength of China's heavy-duty truck companies has been further strengthened. The first thing to do is to increase investment in technology research and development, especially independent research and development of core technologies. At the same time, a new R&D system must also be formed. What Chinese auto companies are most lacking now is not money, but a good mechanism for cooperation in production, education, research, and cooperation. Many core technologies in the automotive industry involve the integration of multiple industries and engage in independent innovation. Enterprises are also more powerful and weaker. They must have a strong science and technology system and social resources.

It is understood that in China's current OEMs, emerging automotive electronics manufacturers and related automotive R&D institutes, the business model of project cooperation based on the demand for complete vehicle products has not yet been fully established. Due to the lack of vehicle demand traction, automotive electronics manufacturers have to develop functional prototypes of their own products and then send them to the vehicle manufacturer for testing. After testing, they only seek out supporting manufacturers.

This process of research and practice is complex and cumbersome, and there are problems with the inconsistency of standards for different models and different automobile manufacturers. It is naturally difficult to achieve the stability, safety, and consistency of products that meet the requirements of international standards. For this reason, in the area of automotive electronics, it is imperative that through the cooperation of production, education, and research, we must jointly solve technical problems, share key technologies, and seize the high ground of the core technology of international heavy trucks.
Going out is even better

The important sign that the auto industry has become stronger and stronger is the internationalization of the industry, or going global. From a competitive perspective, heavy trucks are the industries of big countries, and the industries of big countries are themselves international industries. This has become the consensus in the industry. However, the road to go out is not smooth.

While fully affirming the achievements of the Chinese auto industry and the heavy-duty truck industry, we should also soberly realize that the internationalization of China's heavy-duty truck industry has only just begun, and there is still a big gap compared with international advanced enterprises. This is mainly reflected in: First, the company's business philosophy and operating mechanism are still in the domestic company's standards, and have not yet reached the requirements of the international company operating mechanism. The second is that the international after-sales service network system is in the initial stage, and the after-sales service level and spare parts supply capacity are not high. Third, the international market is mostly a developing country. Auto companies have no strength to occupy the markets of developed countries such as Europe and the United States.

How to do? People in the industry believe that domestic auto companies must accelerate the training and training of international business talents. The establishment of the entire marketing system, as well as the establishment of after-sales service system and accessory system, is a long process that requires arduous efforts and time accumulation.

China's heavy truck companies should be selling cars for the future, not just selling cars now. To enter overseas markets, we must first understand this market, and then develop suitable products for this market. We must build a good after-sales service system before our products are listed. Ensure that our products are suitable for this market, reliable use and good service.
