Chicago Working Fire, 5-18-15

I just got this update from Josh Boyajian. He mentioned that there was a fire earlier today at a location on 5411 South Carpenter Street. From what he described, it seemed like the fire originated in the basement of a classic 1.5-story Chicago-style bungalow. The firefighters really jumped into action—Engine 116 managed to deploy three lines, and Truck 18 even went up onto the roof to handle things from above. Check out these photos I grabbed while talking to him. The first one shows a firefighter standing proudly on the roof of the house, clearly working hard to get the situation under control. It’s a tough job, but they’re doing everything they can to keep everyone safe. ![Fireman on the Roof](#) In another shot, you can see several firefighters gathered after the blaze, looking exhausted but determined. They’ve been through a lot, but their teamwork is evident in every image. ![Firemen After the Fire](#) There’s also this close-up of a firefighter carrying essential tools, ready to tackle any challenges that come his way. It’s moments like these that remind us how crucial these professionals are in our communities. ![Fireman Carrying Tools](#) Even the fire trucks themselves look impressive, decorated with bold logos and markings that reflect their purpose and dedication. ![Decoration on Fire Truck](#) Finally, here’s a powerful image showing a firefighter still working hard during the overhaul phase, ensuring no hidden dangers remain. These photos really capture the intensity and resilience required in such situations. ![Fireman Overhauls House](#) It’s always humbling to witness their efforts firsthand. If anyone has more details or knows how folks affected by the fire are doing, let me know!
