From the *Chicago Tribune*: Lake-effect snow that lingered over the city until mid-afternoon caused slippery road conditions, especially near Lake Michigan, leading to several accidents. One such incident severely disrupted traffic on the Kennedy Expressway on Sunday morning and afternoon. According to Illinois State Police, between 20 and 30 vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash on the inbound express lanes. The accident occurred around 10 a.m. and affected the express lanes from North Avenue to the Ohio Street off-ramp. Authorities reported that the snow was the main cause of the crash, as there are no shoulders on the expressway. The highway was eventually reopened by 11 a.m.
