Apparatus photos

Ron Wolkoff recently shared a collection of photos featuring fire department vehicles and equipment that haven't been added to the website yet. These images offer a glimpse into some of the local emergency services' assets. The first photo shows an ambulance from the Streamwood Fire Department, specifically Unit 33. The image was taken by Ron Wolkoff and captures the vehicle in good condition. Another photo features a 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe used by the Hoffman Estates Fire Department's Battalion Chief. This SUV is a common sight during emergency responses and represents the department’s standard transport for senior personnel. A third image highlights a 2011 Ford Expedition assigned to Rolling Meadows Fire Department's Battalion 15. This vehicle serves as a command unit and is essential for on-scene coordination during major incidents. The last photo presents a 1989 Ford Darley fire engine found in a used car lot at the intersection of Rand Road and Hicks Road in Palatine. Ron is reaching out to see if anyone has information about the origin or history of this engine, which appears to be in storage and not currently in service. If you have any knowledge about the background of this particular fire truck, Ron would greatly appreciate your input. It’s always interesting to learn more about the history behind these important pieces of equipment.
