Turbine flowmeter common faults and solutions

First, the liquid does not show normal flow or the cumulative flow does not increase
1. The power supply circuit and signal circuit are disconnected or have poor contact. Use a multimeter to detect and eliminate the fault point.
2. The line circuit board of the display is faulty or the connector is not in good contact. Replace the circuit board or connector.
3. The preamplifier is faulty. The iron object moves quickly at the bottom of the amplifier. There is no signal output. Check whether the coil is disconnected or desoldered. If the amplifier is damaged, it should be replaced.
4. The power supply voltage is too low or unstable, and the power supply voltage is increased and stabilized to the specified requirements.
5. If the impeller is stuck or damaged, the foreign object should be removed and the damaged parts should be cleaned or replaced. After the parts are replaced, they must be recalibrated before use.
Second, the flow display is gradually reduced
1. The filter is clogged and the flow rate is reduced. The filter debris should be removed.
2. The valve plug on the pipe is loose, the valve opening is reduced, and the valve is repaired or replaced.
3. Impellers or bearings have debris entering, the resistance increases to slow down the speed, clean the flow meter, and recalibrate.
3. When the flow rate is zero, the flow display value is not zero or the display value is unstable.
1. The signal line shields poor grounding, external electromagnetic field interference, check grounding or eliminate field interference sources.
2. Pipe vibration causes the impeller to shake, strengthen the pipeline or install brackets before and after the flowmeter.
3. The shut-off valve leaks, repairs or replaces the valve.
4. The internal circuit board or electronic components of the display are damaged, causing interference. Take the “short circuit method” or check one by one to find the fault point.
Fourth, the flow display value does not match the actual flow
1. The impeller is corroded, the blade is deformed, and the impeller is recalibrated after repair or replacement.
2. The debris hinders the rotation of the impeller and removes debris.
3. The detection coil output signal is abnormal, and the insulation resistance and on-resistance of the coil are detected.
4. If the fluid temperature is too high or too low, the gap between the bearing and the shaft will change too much.
5, insufficient back pressure, resulting in air pockets.
6. The viscosity of the fluid becomes larger due to the influence of temperature.
7, the check valve is not installed, and there is a reverse flow.
8. The bypass valve leaks, close the bypass valve, and replace if necessary.
9. The flow velocity distribution upstream of the flowmeter is distorted or pulsating, and the cause of distortion or pulsating flow is found out, and measures are taken to eliminate it.
10. Display the instrument fault, repair or replace the display instrument.
11. The meter wiring is incorrect and the wiring is corrected.
12. Display the meter setting error and correct the setting.
13. The actual flow rate exceeds the specified flow range, and the flow meter of the appropriate diameter is replaced.
