·The national charging facility construction subsidy policy will be introduced as soon as possible in April

Recently, it has been reported that subsidies for the construction of charging facilities at the national level will be introduced as soon as April 2015. Dong Yang, executive vice president and secretary general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, has confirmed this news.


It is expected that the central government will give enterprises a certain percentage of subsidies according to the investment amount of the construction of charging facilities. The person in charge of the charging pile production enterprise said that the central government's subsidy for the construction of charging stations is expected to be more than 40%.


In November 2014, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Notice on the Reward for the Construction of New Energy Vehicle Charging Facilities, indicating that the central government plans to arrange funds to reward the construction of charging facilities for new energy vehicles to promote cities or urban agglomerations. However, this policy is mainly linked to the annual evaluation results of new energy vehicles in various cities. After the central government issues funds, the local government is responsible for the allocation of funds, but there is no national direct subsidy for the construction of charging facilities.


At present, more than ten cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing have introduced subsidies for local charging facilities, and the subsidies are mostly between 15% and 30%. Among them, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities have a maximum subsidy ratio of 30% for the construction of charging piles. If coupled with the central financial subsidies, the cost of charging pile construction will be greatly reduced, igniting the enthusiasm of social capital investment to build piles.


In 2014, with the active support of national policies, domestic new energy vehicle sales tripled and sales reached nearly 80,000 units. This year, major cities have introduced new incentive policies, including unlimited travel, free of road and bridge fees, and new energy vehicle sales are expected to grow further. Dong Yang expects to sell 150,000 to 200,000 new energy vehicles this year, ranking first in the world. This will certainly expand the demand for charging piles and charging stations, which will lead to a new opportunity to create wealth.
