Continental tires new US tire plant broke ground

Recently, Continental Tire laid a foundation for a new tire factory in Sumter, South Carolina, USA.

The mainland has invested a total of 500 million U.S. dollars to build the tire factory. The construction of the plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2013. In early 2014, production of passenger cars and light truck tires will start.

The factory will employ 300 new employees at the initial stage of production, and it will create approximately 1,600 jobs when completed.

Continental Tire also stated that it will invest US$4 million to expand its headquarters in Lancaster County, adding 80 new employees.
