Car fire in Chicago, 12-25-15
Hey everyone,
This is Eric Haak here. I just wanted to quickly share some photos I took of an incident I came across on Christmas morning. It was on the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway near 47th Street. There was an old engine parked there, and it seemed like something out of a movie or maybe even a strange coincidence during the holiday.
Take a look at these pictures I snapped. The first one shows the scene as I found it—just a car fire blazing away on the expressway. The flames were intense, and you can see how it must have caused quite a stir for anyone driving by that day.

The next couple of shots show firefighters hard at work trying to put out the flames. They were really moving fast despite the early hour, which just goes to show their dedication. You can see in the pictures how they’re dousing the fire with water hoses while other crew members check things out around the vehicle.

And then there are these last two images where the situation seems more under control. The fire has been mostly put out, but you can still see the lingering smoke and some charred remains of the car. It’s always impressive to see how quickly professionals handle emergencies like this, especially during the holidays when everyone else is off relaxing.
