Brazil temporarily exempts Chinese barium carbonate from anti-dumping duties

On October 19, 2010, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission (CAMEX) passed a resolution stating that due to the halt of production of Química Geral do Nordeste S. A, the only manufacturer of barium carbonate in Brazil, it decided to import barium carbonate from China (commonly shared by the South Tariff No. 28366000) is temporarily exempted from anti-dumping duties. This measure has been effective since the date of promulgation (October 20, 2010) and is valid for one year.
Prior to this, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission passed a resolution on June 30, 2010, and decided to continue to impose anti-dumping measures against China's barium carbonate at the rate of US$105.17 per ton. This resolution will come into effect on the date of its promulgation (July 1, 2010) and will be valid for five years.
