BorgWarner Launches Second Turbocharger Plant in China

On September 4, 2014, the opening ceremony of BorgWarner Turbocharger China No. 2 Plant, an international parts manufacturer, was held in Taicang, Jiangsu Province. It will join hands with the original Ningbo plant to set off another wave of “ Turbo ” in the Chinese auto market.

BorgWarner Components (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. is BorgWarner's second turbocharger plant in China. The total area is 50,000 square meters, and the current phase of the construction area is 15,800 square meters. It will be officially put into operation on September 4, 2014. It is estimated that by the end of 2014, there will be more than 170 employees and it is estimated that there will be 500 employees in the next five years. The plant is built for the ever-increasing domestic demand for turbochargers and plans to have a capacity of more than 2 million units by 2018.

The new plant achieves greater efficiency and better safety through lean production. Transparent production, through the production mode of one-way one-way workflow, standardized but flexible equipment to achieve higher efficiency and better security. All of the equipment is new equipment and meets the latest global standards of BorgWarner. The latest global manufacturing execution system will be installed to ensure traceability of all products and the highest quality standards. The new plant received gold certification from LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) in the United States. The use of daylighting systems, solar power generation and rainwater recovery systems, and waste heat recovery systems in the entire plant enabled the energy consumption of the entire plant to be reduced by about 22% compared to the general plant. .
